Janet GWINNUP COE, 70, formerly of Keosauqua, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at East Side Hospice in Des Moines.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Janet Lee COE, 70, of Des Moines, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Bright Kavanagh House.

A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua.

Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials to Keosauqua Public Library or Fellows Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 901 Hilltop Road, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. COE was born Jan. 27, 1941, in Keosauqua, the daughter of Maurice and Fern GWINNUP. She married Gary Ronald COE Jan. 5, 1963.

Mrs. COE graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1959. She attended Kirksville State Teachers College in Missouri for one year and then moved to Des Moines. She worked for Farmland/Nationwide Insurance for 31 years, retiring in 2003.

Mrs. COE enjoyed traveling with her husband in retirement, reading, eating good food, being with people and spending time at the couple's lake cabin in northern Minnesota.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter: Jeanne RAFDAL and husband John; one son: Terry COE and wife Valerie; two granddaughters; her mother; and one brother: Terry GWINNUP.
