Josephine A. DRISH, 94, of Fairfield, died today, Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Josephine A. DRISH

Josephine A. DRISH, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating. Cremation will follow, and burial will be at a later date in St. Mary Cemetery in Keota.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Health Center. Cards and memorials may be sent to 200 N. 28th St., No. 29, Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. DRISH was born March 1, 1917, in Keota, the son (sic - daughter) of Peter and Sophie KLETT HAUPERT. She married Joseph Stanley DRISH Dec. 28, 1940. He died July 21, 1961.

Mrs. DRISH and her husband farmed near Washington, Iowa, and East Pleasant Plain. She had worked at Jefferson County Health Center and Universal Producing and was retired from Harper Brush Works.

Mrs. DRISH enjoyed sewing, quilting, shopping, doing yard work and watching basketball and baseball on television. She also liked to cook for family and friends.

Survivors include four children: Shirley CRAWFORD and husband John of Fairfield, Ron DRISH and wife Vicki of Clinton, Diana WEBER and husband Dean of Richland and Stan BREON-DRISH of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Virginia STRIEGEL of What Cheer, Louise LINDER of Sigourney and Margaret CARROLL of Lake San Marcos, Calif.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Mona Rae ADAM; three sisters: Geneva HAPUERT, Gertrude HAUPERT and Martha HENDERSON; and one brother: Charles HAUPERT.
