Donald Lee HARRISON, 81, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

No funeral is planned. Cremation has been accorded.

A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home.

Donald Lee HARRISON

Donald Lee HARRISON, 81, of Fairfield, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

No service is scheduled in accordance with Mr. HARRISON's wishes. Cremation has been accorded.

Memorials may be directed to the Fairfield Public Library.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mr. HARRISON was born May 29, 1930, in Fairfield, the son of Guy M. and Lela FITE HARRISON. He married Dorothea "Dot" STAVES on June 24, 1951, at First Christian Church in Fairfield.

Mr. HARRISON graduated from Fairfield High School in 1947 and received his degree from Parsons college in 1957. Mr. HARRISON received his background in retail through the management trainee program at J.C. Penney Company in Alexandria, Va., where he managed the menswear department for several years. Moving closer to home, he purchased, remodeled and renamed a store "The Harrison House" in Marengo, Ill. He later returned to Fairfield where he bought Perry Clothing in 1982. Poor health ended his retail career in 1995.

Mr. HARRISON served in the United States Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War.

While at Parsons College, Mr. HARRISON was president of the Zeta Fraternity, first president of Sigma Phi Epsilon, a member of Omicron senior honorary fraternity and president of the interfraternity council. He was one of 12 Parsons students in Who's Who among the students in American colleges and universities. He was a member of Fairfield Elks Lodge, Walton Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife and one sister, Darlene COYLE of Saux City (sic - Sauk City), Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
