DEATH CLAIMS JAMES SNIDER

James S. SNIDER, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Jefferson county, died last nite at his home in Abingdon. Snider, 82, had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for six weeks.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Abingdon Christian church in charge of the Rev. S.P. Williamson. Burial will be in Abingdon cemetery.

The body will remain at Weston Behner Funeral home until 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Snider was born near Abingdon June 29, 1868, the son of James and Mary HICKENBOTTOM SNIDER. His entire life was spent in that community. SNIDER married Clara MYERS December 21, 1892. She preceded him in death September 15, 1915.

On January 24, 1919 he married Margaret E. GREEN, who survives. Other survivors include one son, Perry J. SNIDER, Fairfield; one step-son, Harry A. SMITH, Fairfield, and one brother, Ben R. SNIDER, Cottage Hills, Ill. Five grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

He was preceded in death by one son, Harry.
