Orville SMITH

Orville SMITH, 93, of 302 E. Main, died December 13, 1988 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born May 30, 1895 (sic - 1894 per SSDI and gravestone) to Nathan and Lillie SMITH. He farmed north of Batavia until moving to Ottumwa in 1967. He married Ethel SIMONTON on March 15, 1916, in Ottumwa. She died March 1967.

He is survived by two daughters; Marcene STEEN of Des Moines and Marie BLAKELEY of Bettendorf; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The services will be 2 p.m. today at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
