MRS. F. SEARS DIES TODAY

Mrs. Frances F. SEARS passed away this morning at 12:25 a.m. at her home at 305 East Washington. She had been in failing health since October and seriously ill the last three weeks.

Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins Funeral Home. Reverend A. P. Keast will conduct the services and burial will be in Abingdon cemetery.

Mrs. SEARS, born September 12, 1863 in Jefferson county, was the daughter of Archibald Thomas DOWNEY and Francis GARBER.

She is survived by six daughters: Mrs. Reinhold KING and Mrs. Sam FARMER both of Fairfield; Mrs. E. J. BRUNSVOLD of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. B. M. LUBER of Los Angeles; Mrs. Ellis WAGNER, Unionville, Ia.; Edna SEARS of Keokuk; two sons, James SEARS of Salem; Pierce SEARS of West Burlington; ten grandchildren; five of whom are in service overseas; three great grandsons; two brothers: Archibald DOWNEY of Ottumwa; Willard SEARS (sic - Willard DOWNEY) of Long Beach; two sisters: Mrs. Rebecca DARLING of Joliet, Illinois; and Mrs. Cora BUCHANAN of Berkeley, California. Her husband Frank SEARS died February 20, 1917 and a two-year-old daughter also preceded her in death.
