Viola SALTS funeral Tuesday

Funeral services for Viola SALTS, 76, Route 3, who died Saturday at the Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Bales officiating.

Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:00 tonight. A memorial has been established to the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary's "Lifeline" emergency response project.

Mrs. SALTS was born Aug. 12, 1911 at Farson, the daughter of Walter H. and Mary S. MOWERY HARRISON. She married Ernest H. SALTS Sept. 22, 1935 in Fairfield. He died May 15, 1985.

Mrs. SALTS lived her entire life in Jefferson County, where she had been a homemaker and self-employed housekeeper. She was also employed at Nelson's Nursing Home and Bethany Home. Mrs. Salts enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in law: Kenneth and Sandy SALTS, Route 2, Batavia; three grandchildren: Tena, Tanya and Kendall; two brothers, Harold HARRISON and Walter "Sam" HARRISON, Jr. both of Fairfield; and two sisters: Blanche COPELAND and Faith HARRISON, both of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Denver Fred and Edward.
