Thursday, 16 May 1985Ernest SALTS dies suddenly
Ernest SALTS, 75, Route 3, died suddenly at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson Nursing Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Harris Officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary for its "Lifeline" project.
Ernest Harold SALTS was born Jan. 20, 1910, in Brookville, northwest of Fairfield. He was the son of Vernon M. and Zelma V. JOHNSTON SALTS. He was married to Viola Druzilla HARRISON Sept. 22, 1935, in Fairfield.
SALTS lived his entire life in Jefferson County. He farmed in Center Township for over 44 years. His hobbies included hand-making wooden toys and he was a member of the Brookville baseball team in his younger days.
Survivors include his widow, Route 3, and a son, Kenneth SALTS, Batavia; three grandchildren and a sister, Beulah DAHL, Northbrook Ill.
