Death Comes To Wallace MYERS

Death came Saturday to Wallace H. "Skinner" MYERS, 54, Abingdon, who died about 10:35 p.m. at the University Hospital in Iowa City. He had been seriously ill for the past three months.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the People's Church north of Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black in charge. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery with Masonic grave rites.

The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at noon Tuesday.

Wallace H. MYERS was born Feb. 18, 1917, near Abingdon. He was the son of C. O. and Lottie WEBB MYERS. He was reared and educated in the Packwood Community.

He was married to Ruth KLINGAMAN Nov. 22, 1938, in Ottumwa. For nearly 30 years he was employed at the L. H. Wake Feed Co., at Packwood. He was a charter member of the People's Church, member of the Abingdon Masonic Lodge, of which he was treasurer at the time of his death. He was also past master of the lodge.

MYERS is survived my his widow and one son, Charles, Kansas City; one daughter, Susie MYERS, Mount Pleasant; one grandchild; one brother, Clyde MYERS, Packwood; and a sister, Mrs. Florence MITCHELL, Abingdon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
