BATAVIA, Ia., Jan 29--Mrs. Abigail LONGERBONE, 73, passed away yesterday at the Curtis nursing home in Ottumwa. A resident of Jefferson county most of her life, she had been in poor health for three years and seriously ill since December 1.
Mrs. LONGERBONE was born in Abingdon September 19, 1877, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret SCHOOLEY. She married Clarence A. LONGERBONE Dec. 24, 1893, who preceded her in death in 1937. She lived her entire life in Jefferson county, with the exception of six years spent in Minnesota.
She was a member of the Abingdon Christian church. Funeral services will be held there tomorrow at 11a.m. in charge of Rev. Leonard Sammon. Burial will be in Abingdon cemetery.
Mrs. LONGERBONE is survived by the following children: Ralph and Clarence, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; Harley, Ponsford, Minn.; James A., Lawrence and Charles, all of Des Moines; Mrs. Ray McCLEARY, Batavia; Mrs. David SUNGALE, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Ralph ELLETSON, Buffalo, Minn., Mrs. Plummer TERRILL, Campton, Kentucky.
The following brothers and sisters also survive: Dan SCHOOLEY, Batavia; Thomas W. SCHOOLEY, Ottumwa; Mrs. Ella WELCH, Ottumwa; Mrs. John SALTS, Batavia; Miss Della SCHOOLEY, Fairfield; Mrs. George SHARP, Goodman, Mo. Mrs. LONGERBONE was preceded in death by two sons.
The body is Campbell Funeral chapel in Batavia.
