F. IRELAND Dies At 81

Fred L. IRELAND, 81, retired Dexter Co., employee and a lifetime resident of Fairfield, died at 1:45 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been a resident of the Park View Care Center for the past two and a half years.

Last rites will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Masonic rites and burial will follow in Abingdon Cemetery.

Ireland was born Sept. 26, 1891 in Jefferson County, the son of Wilbur and Belle GREENWOOD IRELAND. He was married June 19, 1912 to Lora I. SCHOOLEY. She died Sept. 14, 1972.

IRELAND was a 50-year member of the Abingdon Masonic lodge. He is survived by three children: Floyd "Bub" IRELAND, Fairfield; Mrs. Bernice TURNER, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Grace HESTON, Iowa Falls. Also surviving are six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ruth ADAMS, Keokuk.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, four brothers and one son.
