Floyd A. "Bub" IRELAND, 71, 400 W. Washington, died Friday evening at Nelson Nursing Home.
He was born June 30, 1915 in Abingdon, the son of Fred and Lora SCHOOLEY IRELAND. He was a lifetime resident of Jefferson County and had been a supervisor in the Dexter Company until his retirement.
IRELAND was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, serving in India. He was a member of Elks Lodge No, 1192, Eagles Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by one sister, Grace HESTON, Clear Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bernice.
Funeral services for Ireland will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Military rites will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Sunday.
