JOHN HUFFMAN, FARMER, DEAD

John E. HUFFMAN, 75, lifelong Jefferson co. resident, died last evening at the home of his son, Edgar Huffman, in Abingdon. He had been ill six weeks.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Christian church of which he was a member and burial be in the Abingdon cemetery. The Rev. S. P. Williamson of Fairfield will be in charge.

The body is at the Campbell funeral home in Batavia.

John E. HUFFMAN was born in Jefferson county, Oct. 9, 1877 the son of Esram and Sarah Ann HUFFMAN. All his life was spent as a farmer in this county.

He was married Feb. 24, 1901 to Nannie ODUM, who preceded him in death in 1940.

Surviving are the son, Edgar, and one daughter, Mrs. Lessie WILHOIT of Hedrick, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nora Bradfield of Batavia. He was also preceded in death by a brother.
