Mabel FORREST dies at 96

HEDRICK --- Mabel FORREST, 96, Hedrick, died Saturday, July 8, 1989, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Abingdon Christian Church with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 8 tonight at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia. Memorials have been established to First Responders of Packwood and her church.

Mrs. FORREST was born March 30, 1893, in Aurora, Neb., the daughter of Lewis and Matilda PETERS CLINE and had spent most of her life in the Abingdon area. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She married Jesse FORREST Feb. 23, 1922. He died April 23, 1963.

Surviving are a daughter, Lucile GRIFFITHS of Des Moines; a son, Lee of rural Hedrick; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister and a brother preceded her in death.
