Rites Today For Mrs. DOROTHY

ABINGDON --- Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Perry Herman DOROTHY, 85, who died Saturday at the Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa. She had been seriously ill for the past six weeks.

The services today were held at the Abingdon Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kermit Black officiating. Burial was in Abingdon Cemetery. The body was taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at noon today.

Mintie May DOROTHY was born March 24, 1882, in Abingdon, the daughter of William and Lucinda McKINNEY DAVIS. She was reared educated in Abingdon.

She was married Aug. 14, 1901, Perry Herman DOROTHY who preceded her in death. The wedding took place at Fairfield. Mrs. DOROTHY had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1896.

Mrs. DOROTHY is survived by two sons, Arvid, Batavia, and Floyd, Ottumwa; also two daughters, Mrs. Ammie SIPES (sic - Amie SIPE), Hedrick, and Mrs. Martha HUFFMAN, Abingdon; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Alvie DAVIS, Batavia.

She was preceded in death by two sons, three grandchildren, three sisters and six brothers, and one step-sister.
