OTTUMWA --- Floyd "Abby" DOROTHY. 72, of 203 1/2 W. Main St. died at 5:09 p.m. March 1, 1992, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born June 11, 1919, in Abingdon to Perry Herman and Mintie May DAVIS DOROTHY.

A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he had been employed by John Morrell and Co. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1939 and was a guest member of O.B. Nelson Post #3 of the American Legion and member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 114.

He is survived by a brother, Arvid of Batavia Route 1; and a sister, Martha HUFFMAN of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Amie SIPES (sic - SIPE); and two brothers, Carroll and Orlie DOROTHY.

The service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Chapel, Park Sullivan officiating. Burial with military rites by O.B. Nelson Post 3 of the American Legion will be in Abingdon Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Harold Fowler, Sid Rosenman, Dan Pappaducas, Kelly Reed, George Adams and Danny Toubekis.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Patricia Schmidt, 1818 Richmond Ave., and American Cancer Society in care of Florence DeBuhr, 3 Carter Court Lane.
