C. W. DOROTHY Dies Suddenly

Carroll W. DOROTHY, 35, Abingdon, died suddenly at 7:15 a.m. today at the Jefferson County hospital. He became ill Monday and was admitted to the hospital a short time before his death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Abingdon church in charge of Rev. Kermit Black. Burial will be in the Abingdon cemetery. The body is at Raymond Funeral home.

DOROTHY was a carpenter. He was born June 5, 1925 (sic - 1924) at Abingdon the son of Perry H. and Minnie (sic - Mintie) DAVIS DOROTHY. He was reared in Abingdon. He was a graduate of Packwood high school and a veteran of World War II.

DOROTHY is survived by one daughter, Connie Lou DOROTHY of Ottumwa, and his mother, Mrs. Minnie (sic - Mintie) DOROTHY, Abingdon. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Arvid DOROTHY, Abingdon; Floyd DOROTHY, Ottumwa; Mrs. Martha HUFFMAN, Abingdon; and Mrs. Amy SIPE, Blakesburg.

His father and one brother preceded him in death.
