Pg. 3 Col. 3Death of Mrs. LANE.
Nellie DILL, wife of Everett LANE (sic. Everett Brinton LANE), died in this city Thursday. Mrs. LANE was born in Trenton (sic. Trenton, Henry county, Iowa) December 19th, 1870, and was married there September 26, 1888. Three children (sic. actually likely five, one having died in infancy and buried in Old Fairfield City cemetery and the other being Ruby/Rubie, buried in the LANE family plot Old.P.104 in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa) were born to her, two daughters and a son, all of whom, with the father, survive. She came here with her husband, an employe (sic. employee) of J. Turney & Co., when their works were moved to this city. Mrs. LANE united with the Baptist church in 1896 and has ever since been a consistent christian and devoted worker in the church. Many friends in church and community will sympathize with the family in its bereavement. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at 3:30, Rev. W. C. Shepherd, pastor of the Baptist church, conducting the services.

Notes:
Daughter of Joseph Edward DILL and Mary Caroline "Clarisa" HOPKINS DILL. Born on December 19, 1870 and evidently died on or about August 11, 1898.Her Fairfield burial permit indicates that her death took place on August 11, 1898, the attending physician being Dr. W. Fordyce. Her obituary was published in the Fairfield Ledger on August 17, 1898. Her burial as noted in an Evergreen Cemetery plat layout listing used "Oct. 1898", which was either a clerical error or was the approximate date when the burial was recorded in those records, the physical burial taking place on or shortly after August 11, 1898. As a result, "Oct. 1898" was inadvertently used in a previous Evergreen Cemetery transcription as the approximate DOD.
Nellie DILL LANE was buried, at some point, in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa, in the LANE family plot Old.P.104. Her grave is not marked with a headstone or other inscription, however.
