Pg. 5, Col. 1Mrs. MARESH Rites Pending
Mrs. Grace MARESH, 77, former Fairfield resident, died Sunday at 10:30 p.m. at a nursing home in Springdale, Ark.
The body will be returned to the Raymond Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.
Mrs. MARESH was born Feb. 20, 1893 in Fairfield, the daughter of Everett Brinton and Nellie DILL LANE. She was married to Arch FRESHWATER, who preceded her in death. Later she was married to Reginald MARESH. He is also deceased.
Mrs. MARESH was a member of the Baptist Church. She made her home in Omaha before moving to Arkansas five years ago.
Surviving are one son, Roy FRESHWATER, Lowell, Ark.; one grandson; a half-brother, Howard LANE, Clarkston, Mich.; and a half-sister, Mrs. Alberta NEWLON, Monrovia, Calif.
* Transcribed for genealogy purposes. I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.
Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Old.P.204. She is in an unmarked grave next to that of her first husband, Arch FRESHWATER (who does have a headstone).
Note: The obituary uses February 20, 1893 for Grace's date of birth. However, the Jefferson county birth records use Feb. 24, 1893 for the date of birth of a female child of Everett B. LANE and Nellie M. DILL LANE. Not sure how to reconcile the differences. Will use the obituary DOB date since it is possible that the original entry was recorded in error and later corrected. Of course, the obituary provided DOB could be in error.
The burial location of Reginald Maresh is not known to this contributor at this time. Any clarification would be appreciated. Dates of her marriages are not known, either.
