Jno. P. SHANSTROM, a pioneer of Jefferson County, died at his home five miles west of this city last Tuesday morning. He was a native of Sweden, born March 6th, 1815.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. I. O. Kembie, last Friday. Interment took place at Four Corners.

First married to a Anna Lotta SHANSTROM (maiden name not known), then to Gustava Matilda ANDERSON BURKE SHANSTROM.

John is buried in New Sweden Methodist cemetery near Lockridge, Iowa; his first wife Anna is also buried there. His second wife, Gustava, is buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa (3rd.020) with a son Isaac SHANSTROM and a daughter, Matilda C BURKE.
