Mrs. SHANSTROM Taken In Death

Death came early this morning to Mrs. Rachel Rebecca SHANSTROM, 75, long-time resident of the Fairfield community. She passed away at 12:35 a.m. on the farm where she spent her entire married life.

The SHANSTROM farm is located on rural route 4, five miles northwest of Fairfield. She had been in failing health the past two years and seriously ill the past four days.

Last rites will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Raymond funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Rachel Rebecca SHANSTROM was born Sept. 3, 1885, in Illinois, the daughter of James and Molly SPRINGER RICHARDS. She was reared and educated in Illinois and married in September 1912 to Jacob SHANSTROM. He preceded his wife in death on September 12, 1939. Mrs. SHANSTROM was a member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by the following children: Richard SHANSTROM, Fairfield; Mrs. James LANE, Fairfield; and Mrs. James SCHMIDT, Glencoe, Minn.

Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, four great grand-children, two step-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Martha RIGDON, Jacksonville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
