Ralph DAVIS Dies Monday

PACKWOOD --- Ralph E. DAVIS, 71, of Packwood, died Monday afternoon at Oakdale Hospital at Oakdale where he had been a patient a week.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., at the Campbell Funeral Home in Batavia. Rev. Kermit Black will officiate and burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.

DAVIS was born in Nebraska on June 17, 1898, the son of James and Emma HESKET DAVIS. He had lived in the Packwood Community for the past five years.

Previously married to Margaret DAVIS, he was married to Daisy BOWEN on Sept. 2, 1956.

He is survived by his wife, six sons, Dale DAVIS, Sioux City, Keith, James and Russell DAVIS, all of Des Moines, Larry DAVIS of Vinton; three daughters, Mrs. David FOXWORTHY of Des Moines, Mrs. Virgil MILLER of Panora, Mrs. Marvin RAPP of Hammond, Wis.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Zelpha LEVERONE of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Lewis HANKINS of Waldorf, Md., Willa Lee BOWEN of Knoxville;

One stepson, Dale BOWEN of Columbus Junction; 48 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond DAVIS of Eugene, Ore., one sister, Mrs. Ethel UPWARD of Rapahoe, Neb.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Truman KING of Creston.
