Friday, 30 November 1951ILLNESS FATAL TO MRS. BAKER
ABINGDON, Ia. ---- Mrs. Mary BAKER, well-known resident of this community, died yesterday afternoon after a lingering illness. A life-long resident of Jefferson county, she had been in failing health for some time.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Christian church in charge of Rev. Ralph Johnson. Burial will be in Abingdon cemetery. The body will be taken from Weston Behner funeral home in Fairfield to the church at noon tomorrow.
Mrs. BAKER was born at Brookville April 27, 1884, the daughter of Isaac and Nancy LEWMAN HUPP. She was married to John E. BAKER Sept. 6, 1903. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian church.
Survivors include her husband and the following children: Raymond BAKER, Cedar Rapids; Harry C. BAKER, San Francisco, Calif., and John BAKER, Fairfield. Seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and the following brothers and sisters also survive: John HUPP and Sherman HUPP, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Frank HOLMES, Fairfield, and Mrs. Fred BAKER, Abingdon.
One brother predeceased her in death.
