Louise C. McWHIRTER

Louise C. McWHIRTER, 77, of Batavia, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

No funeral is planned per her wishes. Burial will be at a later date in Batavia Cemetery.

Mrs. McWHIRTER was born Sept. 24, 1934, the daughter of Dr. Robert L. and Lena G. JEFFREY BOGLE WARD. She married John H. BAKER, and they later divorced. She married Ray E. McWHIRTER May 16, 1980.

Survivors include three sons, Robert BAKER and wife Roberta of Grand Junction, Colo., Richard BAKER of Ottumwa and Randal BAKER and wife Clella of Richland; one daughter, Debra BAKER SHAULL of Sigourney; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Michael Eugene BAKER and John H. BAKER Jr.; and one great-grandson.
