Louella H. TWEEDY

Louella H. TWEEDY, 85, of Des Moines, formerly of Douds, died Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Genesis Senior Living Center in Des Moines.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. George Edgerly officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at P.O. Box 97, Birmingham 52535.

Mrs. TWEEDY was born July 1, 1926, near Eldon, the daughter of William "Burt" and Martha HUGHES SICKELS. She married Ernest R. TWEEDY March 8, 1946, in Douds. He died Sept. 23, 1988.

Mrs. TWEEDY graduated from Eldon High School. She and her husband lived near Douds, where he operated Tweedy Coal Co. The couple also lived many years in Des Moines.

Survivors include one sister: Martha BAILEY of Jefferson City, Mont.; and two brothers: John SICKELS of Douds and Charles SICKELS of Des Moines.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Orville SICKELS and Murllee SICKELS in infancy.
