H. WINTER dies at 80

Helen WINTER, 80, lifetime resident of Fairfield, died suddenly at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday at her home, 504 North B. She had been in failing health for a number of years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Helen WINTER was born Aug. 28, 1901, in Fairfield. She was the daughter of Percy and Eva COURTNEY DROZ. Her marriage to Virgil WINTER took place Oct. 3, 1925, in Fairfield. He preceded his wife in death March 12, 1955.

Helen WINTER was a retired school teacher and a member of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann LESHER, Itasca, Ill; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Hazel LOONEY, Aberdeen, S.D.
