Thelma L. SIMPSON

Thelma L. SIMPSON, 72, 505 North B St., died at 12:25 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 11, 1995, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice.

Mrs. SIMPSON was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Utica, the daughter of Thomas and Linnie LOGAN LYON. She graduated from Keosauqua High School and attended American Institute of Business in Davenport. On Dec. 16, 1939, she married James "Tip" SIMPSON. He died Aug. 30, 1975. A resident of the Fairfield community since 1940, she was employed at the Iowa Ordnance Plant, Fairfield Glove Company and Dexter Company. She was a member of VFW Women's auxiliary and the Walton Club. Her hobbies were bowling ----- she was a member of Fairfield's Women's Hall of Fame ---- golfing and spectator sports.

Surviving are three sons, James J. Jr. of Fairfield, Larry Joe of Fountain, Colo., Thomas H. (sic - Thomas A.) of Pekin, Ill.; a daughter, Pamela HUFFMAN of Fairfield; 12 grandchildren; and a stepbrother, Delbert PARKER of Wayland.
