J. H. SIMMONS Dies In Sleep

James H. SIMMONS, 71, died this morning in his sleep at his home at 907 W. Stone St.

The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home where services are pending.

SIMMONS was employed by the City of Fairfield for more than 20 years. He also worked for the gas division of the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co., for 10 years.

SIMMONS was born Oct. 7, 1896 in Rome and Fairfield. He was married June 4, 1931 to Ina MYERS, who survives. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Also surviving are the following children: Mrs. Beatrice RANDALL, Mrs. Marguerette BURNS and Halley SIMMONS, all of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Frances PHILLIPS, Richland; and James SIMMONS, Ottumwa.

Other survivors are 17 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, George SIMMONS, and one sister, Mrs. Faye WATSON, both of Fairfield.
