Violet E. PEARCE, 92, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday, Nov, 19, 2011, at La Loma Care Center in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
A celebration of Mrs. PEARCE's life will be scheduled at a later date in Fairfield. The body has been cremated.
Mrs. PEARCE was born March 5, 1919, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Howard and Della BRIGGS TAYLOR. She married Harold L. "Pete" PEARCE Oct. 24, 1944.
The PEARCEs lived in Cedar Rapids until moving to Fairfield in 1952. They owned and operated Why-Not Tavern for seven years. Mr. PEARCE became manager of the Walton Club, and Mrs. PEARCE worked with him and managed the kitchen. They worked there 15 years. They then managed food service at the Elks Lodge for six years.
Mrs. PEARCE was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and Walton Club.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with her husband.
Survivors include one daughter, Pat PEARCE AAMODT and husband Larry of Goodyear, Ariz.; three granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, William TAYLOR.

A gathering to celebrate and remember the life of Vi PIERCE (sic), formerly of Fairfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Walton Club in Fairfield.
Vi and Pete PIERCE (sic) were former managers of the Walton Club.
A private burial of cremains for Pete and Vi PIERCE (sic) will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
Raymond Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
