Leroy J. ROBISON

Leroy J. ROBISON, 88, of Bloomfield and formerly of Milton died at 2:03 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Unit where he had resided since Feb. 9, 2009.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Kevin Gingerich officiating.

Burial, with military rites by Russell-Strait Post 483 will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Visitation will open at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Grace United Methodist Church, Russell-Strait Post or Friends of Lake Wapello may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 603 W. Walnut, Bloomfield 52537.

Mr. ROBISON was born Oct. 30, 1923, near Birmingham, the son of Roy A. and Bertha PARSONS ROBISON. He married Dorothy LANE Feb. 20, 1946, in Iowa City.

Mr. ROBISON graduated from Milton High School, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and spent his active life farming near Milton.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a past commander of Russell-Strait Post, American Legion and had been active in Milton Lions Club and Milton Neighborhood Watch.

Survivors include his wife of Bloomfield; one daughter, Lyla BODKINS and husband Ed of Jackson, Tenn.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Connie MOORE; and two brothers Wayne ROBISON and an infant.
