Mark Joseph BROWNRIGG

Mark Joseph BROWNRIGG, 55, of Austin, Minn., past owner of Brown Shoe Fit Company, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, in Austin, Minn.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Pence ~ Reece Funeral Home in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be designated in Mr. BROWNRIGG's name for his children's education fund. The family's address is {withheld at the request of his wife Debbie}.

Mr. BROWNRIGG was born Oct. 30, 1956, in Corning, the son of Joseph Richard and Marilyn Kay BOULTON BROWNRIGG. He married Debra Ruth JAMES Sept. 7, 1991, in Newton.

Mr. BROWNRIGG graduated from the Creston Community Senior High School with the class of 1975. He had worked as an associate to children with special needs at the Decorah High School, was past owner of the Brown Shoe Fit Company and was a stay-at-home dad.

He was an avid golfer and member of the Decorah Golf and Country Club and a Green Bay Packer fan. He also enjoyed coaching his kids' sports teams.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie BROWNRIGG of Austin, Minn.; three children, Sara K. and Brett J. BROWNRIGG of Austin, Minn., and Alex MORGAN of Story City; his mother, Marilyn BROWNRIGG of Creston; and three brothers, David BROWNRIGG of Creston, Brian BROWNRIGG of Perry and Brendon BROWNRIGG of Los Angeles, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father.
