4 March 1982W. CRAWFORD dies at 86
BATAVIA --- Wayne "Barney" CRAWFORD, 86, longtime resident of the Batavia and Libertyville Communities, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson County Hospital.
Last rites will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
Wayne CRAWFORD was born Jan. 12, 1896, at Abingdon. He was the son of William J. and Margaret Ellen SISSON CRAWFORD. He was a farmer and lived his entire life around Batavia and Libertyville. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son and two daughters; Delbert CRAWFORD, Birmingham; Dixie DESEN, Aurora, Colo.; and Donna SMOTHERS, also of Aurora. Fifteen grandchildren and a sister, Martha Salts, also survive.
He was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers and two sisters.
