Son of Pioneer Residents of Brookville Is Summoned
E.W. IRELAND (sic. Ernest Wilbur IRELAND), 82, died at 2 a.m. today. He was the son of J. A. IRELAND, an early settler in this county near Brookville and was born Jan. 4, 1854. He had been in failing health for some time, the extreme heat was thought to be the immediate cause of his death.
He was married to Belle GREENWOOD in 1876 near Brookville. She preceded him in death in 1921. Since that time he has resided with the various members of his family.
He is survived by the following children: Rollin J., Mrs. Guy BAKER, Fred L. and Charles W., all of Fairfield., Frank H. of Packwood, Mrs. A.S. ANDERSON of Ottumwa, Mrs. H.M. PATTERSON of Keokuk, and Mrs. P.J. BRADFIELD of Takoma Park, Md. One son, Alex, died in 1925.
He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, W. B. IRELAND and J.F. IRELAND of Fairfield, Mrs. Nettie M. VANCE of Mankato, Ks. ....(rest of obituary missing).
