BATAVIA -- Bert C. PRATT, 62, died Tuesday at 11:35 a.m. in Veterans Hospital, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. David Albertson officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A memorial has been established to the Kidney Foundation.
Pratt was born May 3, 1930 (sic - March 3, 1920) at Stockport, the son of Manly and Hazel SHAMPNOI PRATT and had lived in the Batavia area most of his life. He married Maxine UTTERBACK, who survives.
Surviving are five daughters, Betty HAINES, Tuscumbia, Mo., Diane BOX, Salina, Kan., Sandy WHITSON, Salina, Texas, Becky DAVIS, Maquoketa, Pam MARTS, Eldon; three sons, Gene, San Diego, Calif., Philip, Palm Beach, Fla., Bill Hurley, Eldon; 16 grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn DOVICO, Batavia, Freda HOCKING, Hooper, Neb., Shirley FRINK, Fremont, Neb., and one brother, Porter PRATT, Batavia.
He was a member of Bladensburg Christian Church and the Batavia American Legion.
