BATAVIA -- Glen L. PEEBLER, 92, Batavia, died Tuesday at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Batavia with Pastor Shirley Meendering officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church of Batavia.

PEEBLER was born Aug. 3, 1895 in Jefferson County, the son of George B. and Ida L. FELL PEEBLER. He lived his entire life in the Batavia community where he farmed, retiring in 1965. He was a veteran of World War I and a charter member of William Harness American Legion Post 667 in Batavia. He married Verla COLTON in 1920. She died July 1933. In 1938, he married Grace J. PETERS, who died in August 1962. He married Lila F. WILLIAMS in January, 1965. She died in September 1987.

He is survived by a son, Larry of Batavia; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Inez SPENCE of Fairfield. A son and a brother preceded him in death.
