Alice E. DeVORE

Alice E. DeVORE, 74, 300 N. 9th St., died at 7:18 a.m. today, Wednesday, March 23, 1994, at Jefferson County Hospital.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Batavia Cemetery. Open visitation begins Thursday afternoon at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to charities of donor’s choice.

Mrs. DeVORE was born March 17, 1920, in Mora, Minn., the daughter of William A. and Eunice Ellen WARD MYERS. She married Leonard DeVORE on Oct. 6, 1938. He died Nov. 6, 1944. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are three sons, Delbert D. of North Branch, Minn., James of Ottumwa, William Wayne, Santa Ana, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy E. CRAWFORD of Fairfield, Mary L. GILLILAND of Sigourney; two brothers, Hurbert D. MYERS of Moline, Ill, and Paul R. MYERS of Joplin, Mo. Five brothers, Louis, Elmore, George, Archer, Lawrence, and two sisters, Ellen and Faye preceded her in death.
