Mrs. James S. COWEN, 90, died Saturday at 8:45 p.m. at the Park View Care Center where she had resided since December 1966.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Packwood Christian Church with Philip E. Young officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7:30 to 9 at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cowen was the former Beulah Anise WARBRITTON. She was born Dec. 14, 1883 in Rogers, Ark., the daughter of Charles and Eliza SMITH WARBRITTON. She was reared and educated in Missouri and was a school teacher in Missouri and was a school teacher in Moody, Mo.
She was married Aug. 3, 1909 to James S. COWEN. They resided on a farm near Packwood until moving to Fairfield in 1943. He preceded his wife in death March 22, 1958.
Mrs. COWEN was a member of the Packwood Methodist Church. She attended the Fairfield Christian Church where she was a member of women's organizations.
Surviving are two sons: Charles of Packwood and Jack of Mount Pleasant; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers, three sisters, one step-son and two grandsons are deceased.
