HANEY RITES TO BE HELD TOMORROW

Funeral services will be held tomorrow, January 23, for McKinley R. HANEY, 46, Jefferson county farmer, who passed away at his home four miles northeast of Batavia Friday afternoon around 3:15 o'clock, as a result of serious heart complications.

HANEY had been quite ill, it was reported, for about two weeks.

He was born in Jefferson county Mar. 10, 1897, and was the son of Harvey and Anna HANEY,

HANEY spent the greater part of his younger life near Birmingham, Iowa and was married to Lorenia UMPHREY at Keosauqua, February 16, 1916. He continued to live near Birmingham for several years, moving first near Libertyville and later to his home near Batavia.

He had been a member of the Methodist church in Birmingham since he was 18 years old.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Keith HOOTMAN, Batavia, and Merle Jean at home, his mother, Mrs. Anna HANEY of Libertyville, two sisters, Miss Mable HANEY, Libertyville and Mrs. Isaac McBRIDE, Batavia and one brother, Walter HANEY of Keosauqua.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, Ronald Dean HANEY and Jerry lee HOOTMAN.

Services will held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Batavia Methodist church with the Rev. H. H. Stack in charge. Burial will take place in Batavia Cemetery. The body will remain at Campbell Funeral Home in Batavia until time for the service.

Note: one son, Dorsey, was not listed in the obituary.
