Mrs. Anna L. GROVE, native of Jefferson County, died at 1:45 a.m. today at Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa. She had been in failing health the past three years and seriously ill the past two weeks.
Last rites have been tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Anna L. GROVE, 85, was born Dec. 5, 1882, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Theodore and Anna Clark CASE (sic. should be Clarke Anna FIERCE CASE). She was reared and educated in the Wooster Community and married Oscar Reynold GROVE (sic. Oscar Raymond "Ray" GROVE). She was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Four daughters survive. They are Mrs. Harry COOK, Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. William LUCAS, Bedford, Ohio; Mrs. Raymond BUTLER, Ottumwa; and Mrs. Arthur DENISON, Fairfield.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Elmer GROVE, Fairfield. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild.
