14 August 1967MESSER Funeral Will Be Tuesday
Mrs. Garfield MESSER, 83, lifetime resident of Fairfield died about 3:44 Saturday at Jefferson county Hospital. She had been seriously ill for the past seven weeks.
Last rites will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. D. O. Van Dyne in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Hilma MESSER was born Nov. 9, 1883, near Lockridge, the daughter of John and Hannah MONSON SODERGREN. She was married to Garfield MESSER on Dec. 12, 1906, at Fairfield. The family home is at 202 W. Washington.
They had made their home in Fairfield the past 16 years after residing in Lockridge previously. Mrs. MESSER was a member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Violet TALLMAN, Fairfield; Clifford MESSER, Burlington; Paul MESSER, Mediapolis; and Mrs. Blanche NELSON, Fairfield; Mrs. Thelma RIDERGER, New London; and Howard MESSER, Beloit, Wis.
Other survivors include 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, V. O. SODERGREN, Lockridge and A. L. SODERGREN, Fairfield.
Mrs. MESSER was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
