MESSER Service To Be Saturday

Funeral services for Garfield MESSER, 87, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Weston Behner Funeral Home. Rev. D. O. Van Dyne will officiate and burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

MESSER, who has resided in the Fairfield community for the past 17 years, died suddenly at his home, 604 North B, on Thursday morning.

He was born Feb. 6, 1881, at Mt. Pleasant, the son of John and Cornelia HOLLIWELL MESSER. He married Hilma SODERGREN on Dec, 12, 1906. She died on Aug. 12, 1967.

A retired farmer, MESSER lived in the Lockridge community prior to moving to Fairfield.

He is survived by the following children; Mrs. O. L. TALLMAN of Fairfield, Clifford MESSER of Burlington, Paul MESSER of Mediapolis, Mrs. Blanche NELSON of Fairfield, Mrs. Leonard RIDINGER of New London, and Howard of Beloit, Wisc. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs, Fred MYERS of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by two sons.
