James Paul FIEDLER

James Paul FIEDLER, 67, of 608 E. Broadway Ave. died at 10:50 a.m. May 9, 2001 at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Kent officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Fell Cemetery near Libertyville.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an endowment fund in his name to the Fairfield Public Library.

Mr. FIEDLER was born July 18, 1933 in Davis County, Iowa to John B. and Viola POST FIEDLER. He married Patricia SMITH June 12, 1965 in Douds.

He graduated from Selma High School with the class of 1951. With previous residence in Douds, he has lived in the Fairfield community for 32 years. He was employed at the Iowa Department of Transportation for 12 years, then worked at the Fairfield Post Office for 18 years, retiring in 1995. He also assisted his son, Andrew FIEDLER on the farm. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Fairfield; one son, Andrew FIEDLER and wife Sandy of Libertyville; one granddaughter; two brothers, Charles FIEDLER of Atlantic and David of Floris; and two sisters, Betty WATSON of Selma and Marie WAUGH of Libertyville.

Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, Robert FIEDLER.
