Eileen T. FERREL

Eileen T. FERREL, 97, of Mount Pleasant died Saturday. Aug. 4, 2001, in New London Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

At her request, the body was donated to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A memorial service to be at later date will be held at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with Edward Peterson officiating.

Mrs. FERREL was born March 26, 1904, near Lockridge in Jefferson County, the daughter of W.H. and Dorothy SCANNELL THOMA. She married Howard FERREL Oct. 5, 1923, in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She was an inspector at the Burlington AEC Plant until retiring in 1969.

She was a member of the Mount Pleasant First United Methodist Church and the Mount Pleasant Business and Professional Women.

Survivors include one son, Howard FERREL Jr. and wife Martha of Davenport; one daughter Polly PETERS and husband of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters; two brothers; and one grandson.
