Orville H. SMITH

Orville H. SMITH, 89, of rural Libertyville died at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 1993, at Jefferson County Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1904, in Libertyville, the son of John R. and Edna J. POTTER SMITH. He married Thelma M. HUFFMAN on Oct. 6, 1928, in Ottumwa. she died May 14, 1992.

SMITH lived most of his life in the Libertyville community. He attended Libertyville schools and Faith United Methodist Church. He farmed in Liberty Township all his life and also did furniture refinishing and caning for chairs.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia FIEDLER of Fairfield; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther and Cleo, and one brother, Orin D. SMITH.

The funeral service will be at ii a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home, the Rev. Thomas Clark officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made to Fairfield Public Library.
