MRS. P. PFOUTZ TYPHOID VICTIM

Long Time Resident Here Died At Home of Daughter Mrs. C.H. WOELLHAF

Mrs. Prudence PFOUTZ, a resident of this city for nearly 33 years, passed away last evening at 6:10 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. C. H. WOELLHAF, 706 North Fifth street, after a three weeks illness with typhoid fever.

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the WOELLHAF home in charge of Rev. Harvey E. Butler. Burial will take place at the Lockridge cemetery.

Mrs. PFOUTZ was formerly Miss Prudence HICKENBOTTOM and she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen HICKENBOTTOM. In early life she was married to Jacob PFOUTZ, who passed away in this city 20 years ago last January. Mrs. WOELLHAF is the only child.

She leaves the following brothers and sisters: James HICKENBOTTOM, of Broken Bow, Neb., R. E. HICKENBOTTOM of Callaway, Neb. (sic. Calloway in some other family obituary sources), Mrs. Joesphine BAKER of Gig Harbor, Wash., Mrs. Frank MOORE of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Nelle CASE of Roseburg, Ore., Mrs. Jane EASTMAN of Arcada, Neb., and Mrs. Anna JENSEN of Nowata, Oklahoma.

OBITUARY

PRUDENCE R. HICKENBOTTOM

Prudence R. HICKENBOTTOM, daughter of Stephen and Mary C. HICKENBOTTOM was born January 14, 1849 in Jefferson county, Iowa and passed away September 6, 1927 at her home in Fairfield, Iowa, after an illness of three weeks with typhoid fever. Aged 78 years, 7 months and 23 days.

She was married in January 1867 to Jacob PFOUTZ of Henry county Iowa. He passed away January 7, 1907.

To this union were born three children, Mary, who died at the age of 11 years (sic. died Sept. 4, 1881 and is also buried in Lockridge cemetery), Mrs. Kate STEPHENSON of Pocatello, Idaho who died sixteen years ago and Mrs. Edna WOELLHAF of this city with whom she made her home.

She is also survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Josephine BAKER, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; Mrs. Sade MOORE of Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Belle CASE, Roseburg, Ore.; Mrs. Anna JENSEN, Nowata, Okla.; Mrs. Jane EASTMAN, Arcadia, Nebr.; James HICKENBOTTOM, Broken Bow, Nebr.; Rollie HICKENBOTTOM, Callaway, Nebr.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughther, Mrs. Edna WOELLHAF and were conducted by Rev. Harvey E. Butler. Interment was in the Lockridge cemetery. Mrs. Arthur GREEF and Mrs. Frank PIERSON sang two duets in the services at the home.
