Saturday, 8 July 1972MESSER --- Mrs. Ella Mae MESSER, 86, 1000 Chamberlain St., died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, July 7, 1972 in Americana Nursing Center after a long illness. Born August 20, 1885 in Unionville, Mo., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John HILL. Lived 47 years in Rockford, coming here from Centerville, Iowa. Married to Charles W. MESSER in Aug. 26, 1903. Employed as a practical nurse for many years. Attended Central Christian church. Survivors include two sons, Forrest H., Geneseo, and Banford H., Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred Hill, Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Minnie McCLASKEY, Arlington, Ore. Her husband died in 1936. Three sisters and a brother also preceded her in death. Services at graveside, 1 p.m. Monday, in Lockridge, Iowa. Local arrangements by FRED C. OLSON MORTUARY, 1001 2nd Ave., friends may call at the mortuary from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. A memorial in her memory has been established with the American Cancer Society.
