Roger Lee HARDING

Roger Lee HARDING, 70, of Bowling Green, Ohio, died early Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Heartland of Waterville in Waterville, Ohio.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren in Defiance, Ohio, with the Rev. Patricia Meeds officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

The Rev. HARDING was born Nov. 1, 1941, at Defiance, Ohio, the son of William Dale and Minnie MULLIGAN HARDING. He married Mildred P. LOVEJOY July 31, 1965.

The Rev. HARDING was a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College. He was a Bowling Green resident the past nine years, having retired after 43 years as a pastor with Church of the Brethren. He served pastorates in Deshler, Ohio; Circleville, Ohio; Libertyville; and Lanark, Ill. He also served Pine Creek Disciples of Christ Church in Polo, Ill., and Antioch Christian Union Church.

Survivors include his wife; one son: Mark BARFELL of Findlay, Ohio; one daughter: Tammy BURMEISTER and husband Mark of Pemberville, Ohio; three stepgrandchildren; three brothers: Victor HARDING of Hillsdale, Mich., Bill HARDING of Camden, Mich., and John HARDING of North Adams, Mich.; and two sisters, Viola SUMNER of Hillsdale, Mich., and Arlene FRAHLEY of Albuquerque, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Lara Lavonne HARDING; and one brother: Richard HARDING.
