Monday, 22 November 1987Basil MESSER dies at 85
Basil MESSER, 85, Route 2, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nelson Nursing Home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kauffman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience. A Memorial has been established to the Nelson Nursing Home Activity Fund.
MESSER was born May 31, 1902, in Trenton, the son of Jay and Alice COLLINS MESSER. A farmer, he lived most of his life in Center Township, Jefferson County. On July 30, 1925 at Mount Pleasant, he married Addie JENKS, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Josephine THOMAS of Fairfield; a stepdaughter, Lorraine PACHECO of Santa Fe, N.M.; a grandson; a stepgrandson; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy PALLISER of New London, Ruby ADAMS of Olds; three brothers, Max MESSER of Farmington, Noel of Fairfield and Ralph of Mount Pleasant. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Buried: Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Acacia 56, space 1
