Lifelong resident dead at 70

William E. BOUGHNER, 70, died 6:50 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson County Hospital. A lifelong resident of Fairfield, he had recently moved to 501 N. Oak, Richland.

BOUGHNER was born Jan. 10, 1915, in Jefferson County to Samuel and Nellie May FLIGG BOUGHNER. On Sept. 27, 1944, he married Pauline P. SCHIEDEL in Fairfield. During World War II he served in the Coast Guard. He worked for 13 years at ACCO Babcock and for 20 years for the City of Fairfield, retiring in 1980.

BOUGHNER is survived by his widow; six sons, Charles W. of Kellogg, William R. of Lockridge, Kenneth S. at home, Robert D. of Iowa City, John P. of Quincy, Ill., and Michael L. of Mystic; one daughter Linda K. PECK of Fairfield; five brothers, George S. and Paul of Fairfield, Sylvan of Dufur, Ore., Charles R. of Denison, Texas, David C. of Orangevale, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister Eva Marie HOOTMAN.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Stephen E. Higdon officiating. The casket will be open at the church one hour preceding the service. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund in care of the funeral home.
