Paul BOUGHNER, 69, 2109 150th St., died at 8:22 Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Jefferson County Parks.
BOUGHNER was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Jefferson County, the son of Samuel and Nellie FLIGG BOUGHNER. He lived most of his life in Jefferson County and for 18 years just south of the county line in Van Buren County. In his teen years, he rode rodeo in this area and in later years in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and other Western states. He and Donna MYERS were married on Aug 21, 1943, by the Rev, Sam Williamson at the First Christian Parsonage. He worked at Dexter, Fairfield Engineering, in security at Rockwell, at Universal Producing Co. and for Jefferson County Parks until his retirement because of failing health. He and his brother at one time operated Chuck's Taxi in Fairfield. He was a member of the Eagle's Club.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Rita MILLER of Mount Pleasant; a son, Sam of What Cheer; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, David, Orangeville, Calif., Charles of Denton, Texas; several nieces and nephews, including Warren SIMMONS, whom they raised in their home. His parents, a sister, Marie HOOTMAN, and three brothers, George, Bill and Sylvan preceded him in death.
